VTG has recently worked on several server and storage migration projects. The overall risk was relatively high for all these projects. In addition, for most of the projects, the expected completion time was short, like 6 to 8 months. Nonetheless, we delivered excellent progress with a well-defined plan and achieved it.

We rely heavily on our in-house technology, ZENfra, for project planning with the project managers and technical team to use for analytics, automation, assessment, and project management. It aided in completing the project plans in a timely and efficient manner. Clients were permitted to upload logs for each server and storage type.

After the logs are uploaded, we create the Migration Execution Package with the help of ZENfra, which covers the current infrastructure and migration plans for the future. The ZENfra project tracker aids the project manager in keeping track of the project’s progress and generating various management reports. The client can also use all the other capabilities that ZENfra offers.

“A better plan gets a better outcome,” as the proverb goes. The most noticeable feature of ZENfra is that it provides the most effective planning method and saves a significant amount of time. The client was thrilled with how efficiently we were able to complete the strategy.

Executions were divided into several move groups, including Simple migrations and Physical to Physical complex migrations with domains such as Windows, UNIX, Solaris, and others like complex Virtual RDM migrations. The total capacity of each move group will be minimum in terabyte (TB) size. We also faced various obstacles during the migration as we dealt with a massive amount of data transfer.

Still, VTG overcame the obstacles and completed the transfer successfully. As a result, VTG helped our clients transition from legacy data centers to modern data centers ensuring data quality. Furthermore, VTGians completed complex migrations with minimal downtime, including clusters, BOOT LUN, etc. The customer expressed multiple times how the approach of VTGians and ZENfra contributed to the project’s success.

VTG planned and performed the migration of a five-node Dell EMC VXRail installation and a Dell Power Protect installation.
VTG successfully finished the complex Dell EMC VXRail implementation on five nodes and completed the project on time which was appreciated by the client.
